A sad day
Both the kids were sick this week. Both are better now. Anna's actually been sick for over a week. We took her to the doctor on Wednesday. A poop analysis identified Salmonella as the culprit. We suspect that was Jake's problem too.
So today, Laura took both of them out to a lake near our house to let the pet turtle go. Turtles are notorious salmonella carriers. Mangorn (our pet turtle - whose name means "Dragon") will be set off to live with his fellow turtles in a park near our house.
Jake doesn't seem too upset, but I suspect he doesn't really understand. It'll probably hit him tonight about 3am. He's a very sensitive boy.
It's amazing how easy it is to get attached to a turtle. I was downstairs a little while ago and saw the empty turtle aquarium and found myself sad. What a sad day.
