Sunday Sermon and Thoughts

This week's sermon: "How to judge" hit a bit of a nerve in a good way. Here's the link.

There were quite a few cool things that happened today in church.

*Even before church got started, the day was going with a BANG when Jake pulled his 'other' front tooth. Now he truly could scare off alien invaders.

*We had another good "newcomers" class before worship. I have enjoyed getting to know Kay, Cyril, Andrew, Sasha, Jan, Mark, Tracy and Jonathan better. We've got 8 adults from 5 different countries and 4 continents and all sorts of different spiritual journeys to Christ. Wonderful joy! I think they are all going to make great contributions to Intl Church and the work God is doing here.

*Wow. Dr. Esther told me the sermon was "deep". That's a huge compliment. I'm in way over my head.

*Choir has really been great recently. It's good to have had Stephen back the last couple of weeks!

*Loved chatting with a few folks after church about the Scripture from Matthew 7. Dan, Betsy and Li all had especially interesting thoughts.

*We had friends from the Kwai River Christian Hospital with us. (This link is a little out of date.) Thanks to Dr. Gill for sharing a great testimony about what work is like at the hospital. A hospital with 1 full time doctor serving 3000 patients a year! Wow. We need to pray for them - they've got to find at least two doctors licensed for Thailand to keep going. Anyone?

*It was great to come home and read Charm's facebook post that church cheered her up and she found herself laughing again. Her mother-in-law died two weeks ago. It has been a sad time.

*I love being part of a church that focuses on meeting the needs of the poor and vulnerable!

*In the evening we enjoyed worship with Mark and Marion leading worship.

*Ann was back. Wow. 6 weeks after having a big tumor removed from her brain. She seemed mostly back to normal! What a great answer to prayer.

*We also celebrated Msac's mother's improvement. Doctor now says she doesn't need surgery. Wooo hooo! Let's continue to pray for her recovery.

There is so much other great stuff going on.

Glad that Pamela and Sam and Rukshan all came back from last week. All three of them could make wonderful contributions to God's work in and through ICB. I don't think you could find three more different people. :P

Enough for now. Peace.
