Everything happens for a reason - NOT
One of the "christian" comments that irks me more than any other is in the midst of pain and/or tragedy someone will always say "everything happens for a reason."
They mean - "God caused this, so look for the lesson."
The "look for the lesson" part is okay. It's good to find significance in stuff. But sometimes the "reason" for things happening is NOT God. Sometimes it's because we did the opposite of what God wanted. Or someone else did the opposite of what God wanted.
