Technology makes weird things happen

Okay. Here's what you are seeing. The one in the yellow shirt is my son Jake. He's in Bangkok. The people on the computer screen are my parents. They are in the United States. They are doing a video chatt through Skype. We do that regularly.

Once when Jake had just started talking he made some sort of reference to needing to make a phone call... that's why he was looking for the computer. Not only was the idea of a landline foreign to him, but even the idea of a hand phone without video was strange. But he was on top of using the computer as a telephone. Does it date me that I recall rotary phones?

Anyway - back to the photo... this morning Jake grabbed one of his books. Took it over to the computer and started reading to his grandparents... similar to the way you might sit down with a kid in person and read a story. :) What a strange world we live in. Great application of technology Jake.
