Jesus' Ancestors...Judah, Tamar and Rahab...Wow

Sundays Sermons from...

5 December 2010
12 December 2010

Highlights from yesterday included...

* A fun opening to the morning worship service. Kids from Chaiyapruk Home played the Angklang beautifully. It's sad to think they'll all been abandoned by their parents, but great to know that God has provided for them in spite of that with a wonderful, loving home. And great to see them praising God.

* The Choir (with a little help from our friends at Ekkamai Adventist School) busted out on Sunday in a great way. I dream of a day when our choir has that many voices every Sunday. What was interesting to me is that the help from Ekkamai School was minimal. The key voices and the big majority of voices were from ICB.

* Dr. Cleophund (from Chaiyapruk Home) worked into the sermon in a way that I felt was really powerful. I preached about Rahab's place in Jesus' family history. And how God changed her from being Rahab the Prostitute to being Rahab the lady who saved the Hebrew Spies to being Rahab the great great grandmother of king David in the line of Jesus. Dr. Cleophund talked about a baby girls who God has transformed from Tubtim the abandoned poor little baby, to Tubtim the university graduate to Tubtim the nurse at Bumrungrad Hospital (one of the premier hospitals in Bangkok, Asia and really the world).

* God is truly in the redemption business. Paul the persecutor became Paul the apostle. Peter the hothead became Peter the rock. Thomas the doubter because Thomas the missionary.

* Are you carrying any labels that need to be transformed. Turn to God. He can and will work miracles in and through your life.
