Some Sunday Thoughts

Here are some thoughts from Sunday afternoon. One worship service down. One to go.

(1) The Rob Bell video "Luggage" was really powerful with a surprise ending. I don't know why ANYONE would choose NOT to take advantage of Rob's teaching. Wow! If you missed it you should be kicking yourself... but there *might* be another opportunity to see it. Keep up with ICB news for more info.

(2) Surprised by how many people are sick. Hope they don't all have the flu.

(3) Kind of a weird feeling right before worship. Normally I'm a little nervous right before the worship starts, but today I was the most relaxed I've been all week.

(4) Yanti executed the children's story really well and Derrick did a nice job reading Scripture and praying.

(5) Welmer made a good decision about the anthem. There were just not enough voices and he sang a solo which turned out to coincide very nicely with the theme of the sermon. Completely unplanned (except by God who knew it all along I presume).

(6) Will post sermon tomorrow, but it seemed to hit with people. Sometimes you just know you have people's attention.

(7) After church three of us interviewed a candidate for part-time Associate. Still praying to make sure, but it looks promising. This would be a tremendous help if we can get the right person. Feels like God is up to something.

They say 7 is the Bible's # for perfection. This isn't a perfect post, but it's the perfect time to quit writing for now. Worship starts in 1hr 30 minutes. It's gonna rock.
