A Fair Trade Christmas

Ever wonder if the craftsman who made the Thai style gift that you sent to relatives was fairly compensated for his/her work? Or did some middle management person take all the profit and leave the producer impoverished? When you buy your gifts at ThaiCraft you are sure that the person that made the thing benefits most.

During December ThaiCraft is open every Saturday near the Corner of Sukhumvit 23. Check their website for details.

ThaiCraft is a fair trade organization supporting a wide variety of small and medium scale artisans all over Thailand. ThaiCraft started out as a small ministry of the International Church of Bangkok. The church believed (and believes) that God wants us to take care of the poor and vulnerable in the world and so it developed an organization to ensure that some of Thailand's working and creative poor were treated fairly. Over time the small ministry grew and grew until the church birthed it out on its own.

Don't just buy your Thai style crafts from anyone this holiday season. Buy from ThaiCraft.

Also as always - remember if you buy from Amazon this year, please go to this blog first and click the Amazon book link in the upper righthand corner. Then shop. The result will be a small commission paid to me which then gets donated 100% toward Intl Church Outreach partners. Last Christmas we raised over $250 USD. This went to help Bangkok poor and AIDS sufferers on the border between Thailand and Burma.
