Something Jesus Would NEVER Do

Jesus was way too direct and confident for this. He was comfortable with who he was. Probably a result of prayer. Me, on the other hand, I want desperately to be liked. I'm at my worst as a pastor though when I seek out everyone's approval. Ironically more people seem moved/inspired when I don't care what they think.

How does seeking approval of others (rather than or in addition to God) strip you of your best?
