Update on Protests in Bangkok

Well - read this morning that Thailand is the 7th most dangerous country to visit at the moment according to the British government. We rank just behind Somalia and Sudan. RIDICULOUS.

Day to day life is the same as it was this time last year.

However, the rhetoric has gotten a lot worse. Particularly from the PAD. They said we will "fight to the death" at the airports. What kind of language is THAT? They appear very frustrated that the government has NOT responded with overwhelming violence. In fact, I suspect that many people would tolerate a little violence in order to get rid of them at this point. (Not saying that's a good thing, just an observation.)

I continue to be surprised at the armies' lack of involvement. I fully expect a coup this weekend. Perhaps they could stage and hand power back to the already elected government in two weeks or something like that. I can't imagine this going on for more than another day or two.
