Why Jesus @ A BBQ After His Resurrection Is Great News

A lot happened today... as expected since it was Easter. I talked about resurrection and spelled out some Biblical ideas that I don't think get preached a lot. It includes the idea (which is amazingly comforting) that Jesus had a BBQ on the beach after being resurrected. Find out why here.

Some other highlights and thoughts.

(1) Thanks to everyone who invited friends to come with them today. Many, many of you did. And lots of your friends came with you. It was wonderful. Our morning service ended with almost standing room only. What a great way to celebrate the Lord's day. Biggest crowd I've ever seen at ICB.

(2) We had 2 people indicate they wanted to become Christians, 4 people ask for follow up prayer, 6 people ask about getting into a Bible study and 3 people ask about getting involved in serving the poor. These things are incredibly exciting.

(3) It was really nice having Brass today in morning worship. It adds a lot to the music. It was also great having harp and violin.

(4) The worship team in the evening did a special music that was second to none. Jesus really does "save"

(5) Yes, I do believe that Jesus entered and won a fishing tournament after the resurrection. Take a look at John's gospel.

(6) It IS true that our tomb was not empty in the morning worship service. There were Easter Eggs in it. Next year it will be empty.

(7) Total worship attendance today (including both services) was about 275. That's the largest one day attendance in a very long time, possibly ever. I think ICB might have been bigger during the Vietnam Era when so many US Servicemen were stationed here and ICB was the only English speaking church around. Not sure.

(8) We had a lot of people make commitments to go deeper with God today. Please pray for them to be able to follow up on their best intentions. Bangkok will conspire to prevent this. But if we pray....

(9) Intl Church is an incredibly generous congregation.
