Why You Should Come to Intl Church Easter Worship
After I made fun of Country Western Music a few weeks ago in a sermon, I thought I'd better do a little penance. So here's a shout out. I hear ('cause I don't know first hand) that Country music star Kenny Chesney sings a song that contains this refrain,
Everybody wanna go to heaven; Hallelujah, let me hear you shout;
Everybody wanna go to heaven; But nobody wanna go now.
As much as I don't like Country music... there is some truth in that lyric. It reminds me of the story of a man who was sentenced to death. He was asked if he had any last requests. He said that he loved to sing and wanted to sing his favorite song one more time. He was asked what his favorite song was. He replied, “One Billion Bottles of Beer on the Wall.”
Okay - enough of the silliness. Tomorrow is Good Friday. International Church of Bangkok will have an awesome worship service @ the Bangkok Christian Guest House at 7:30pm. Come early because it might be crowded!
Then on Sunday we'll have the best worship services imaginable. If you've ever wondered what exactly the resurrection of Jesus (or the supposed resurrection of Jesus) has to do with YOU. This worship service will be for you. I'm going to explain it.
If you've never been attracted to white robes and angelic wings...
If one long eternal worship service sounds more like hell than heaven...
If harps and clouds don't mix...
If you've lost someone you love...
If you've tried to help someone and they disappointed you...
If you've ever volunteered to help a helpless situation...
If you are distraught over recent geo-political events, but don't think anything we do might matter...
If you try to be good, but frustrate even yourself...
If Christians who love heaven more than their neighbor frustrate you...
If you think, "There's just got to be a better way"...
Then this worship service is for you. Calling all seekers, heretics, and mistake prone Christians.
