The Devil Shows Up For Easter in Bangkok

The political situation in Thailand has taken another negative turn. The shirtless "red-shirts" are out in force threatening violence unless the government steps down. These guys should come to our Good Friday Worship service tomorrow night at 6:30pm at the Christian Guest House on Saladaeng Soi 2. They'd learn something about love, suffering and grace. :)

Seriously - I had forgotten about the big rally yesterday until someone else mentioned it on twitter. (See there IS a reason people tweet!) Daily life on my side of town is not impacted at all. However, one of the ladies at our Bible study last night had to tuk tuk through a mob of people to get out of work. I think it made her a bit nervous.

The shirtless red shirts do seem a bit more aggressive than the yellows. I think the red shirts feel they need to do more extreme things to get attention. They might be right. Perhaps Easter this year can serve as a new day for Thai politics... a resurrection of decency, diplomacy and democracy.
