UNC finishes the season with a win

I don't know that it was surprising, but I'm happy anyway. My favorite team has gone into the tournament before as the or a # 1 seed. Last year for instance. The best team doesn't always win. Today it did.

What I love about UNC is that it's a classy program. 2 of 5 starters are seniors. 2 more are juniors. And 1 sophomore. 4 of them came back this year even though they easily could have turned pro and had a huge pay day. There is never a hint of NCAA recruiting violation. Unlike U Conn. MSU seems like a good program too. Sorry they had to be on the loosing end. And I love Villanova too.

It's fun to see good things happen to good people even if they were the favorites of all time. This team will go down as one of the best. There was no super-super star. Hansbrough. Yes. But they say (and are probably right) that he'll be a role player in the NBA. Ellington? Another NBA role player. Lawson? A starter, but not a star. Green? A role player. Thompson? He'll be lucky to play in the NBA more than a few seasons. Ed Davis probably has the best chance of anyone on the squad to be an NBA allstar. It was a real TEAM effort.

No spiritual lessons from this one. Just happy to finish the season with a win. (Edit: A friend pointed out that "Just happy to finish the season with a win" is a great Easter Sermon title. And a wonderful spiritual tie in. Duh!)

Wonder what will happen next year.
